What is the Medication feature?
All medication your residents are taking can be recorded into the Medication feature, which makes up part of their digital care file.
How is the Medication feature used?
Each resident has their own section just for medication where you can record everything you need to know about a routine. You can add, edit and keep track of all medication quickly, including the dosage, instructions of use, the date it started or will stop, and other general notes.
The library of default medication types that you can choose from is extensive but you can customise it by adding or removing items from the list. Active medication also forms part of your residents’ Emergency Pack.
What benefits does the Medication feature provide?
The Medication feature provides fast access to essential information and supports care consistency across your setting. We have added descriptions to each default medication that briefly explain what they are normally used for but descriptions can be customised for greater clarity if necessary. Descriptions help ensure your staff have selected the correct medication type, protecting residents from human error.
Who benefits from the Medication feature?
Care home managers are able to oversee the list of available medication types and their descriptions, ensuring they are approved for use and consistently applied within the care setting. Carers save time in locating, checking and recording medication requirements and as a result provide a more efficient and accurate service.
