CareDocs Cloud services

When most people think of digital care management systems, the main desktop computer system is probably the first thing that comes to mind. But in the last decade cloud technology has become much easier to integrate into software, giving developers the ability to add more features and functionality through the internet. This breakthrough allowed offline products to work online.

CareDocs originally started as a standalone computer application and we’ve continued to build on it to expand its potential. In 2014 we launched CareDocs Mobile, which was one of the very first mobile recording applications. We’ve since integrated more online services to provide further digital solutions to care services, which are all included in a CareDocs Cloud subscription for no extra charge!

Here are three additional online services that CareDocs Cloud customers can use alongside the main system.

CareDocs Blog - Cloud Portal, Connect & Management Portal

CareDocs Cloud Portal

CareDocs Cloud Portal is an online platform that is synchronised with your main CareDocs Desktop system, enabling the ability to provide comprehensive point of care recording. It can be accessed on any desktop, laptop or mobile device that is connected to the internet, including smartphones and tablets – making it the perfect care companion tool.

Staff can record daily notes, perform assessments, update charts and body maps and create forms. You can also choose to view care plans, contact information, medication, COVID-19 information and more! Work that is saved in the Cloud Portal automatically becomes available to view on the main desktop system, and vice versa, eliminating the need for extra administration work.

There’s no limit to the number of staff who can use it at one time, and to protect your residents’ private information, you have full control over who can access it and from which locations it can be used. Point of care recording helps increase data accuracy and increase comfort, and also reduces the need to queue for the computer – making the service even more efficient!

CareDocs Connect

CareDocs Connect is an online service designed to keep your residents’ loved ones, friends and other health professionals up to date remotely with certain events that get recorded into the CareDocs system. This is done by separating events into three categories: Clinical, Personal and Social. To give you more control over who sees what, CareDocs staff users decide what categories each event falls into.

When a resident has given their consent to use this service, just invite a contact to join CareDocs Connect through their internet browser. This is done via an email link. The contact is then free to log on and check on the resident from anywhere in the world, and will only see events based on their relationship with the resident. For example, GPs might only be interested in Clinical updates, whereas close family members might wish to only see Personal and Social updates.

To ensure sensitive information isn’t displayed for longer than necessary, care updates remain visible on the Connect portal for three days before expiring. We’ve also added a few options to help contacts engage with the resident, including text messaging and the ability to send files or photos to the CareDocs system.

CareDocs Management Portal

The Management Portal was created to give management more transparency and control over the system, and support decision-making through evidence. This platform provides an overview of your system, users and devices. You can also access a range of enhanced security tools and key performance indicator (KPI) charts.

For example, you can instantly generate reports and charts that show you how many daily care notes have been added over a specific time period. You can also see trends in activity, such as resident occupancy numbers and staff numbers. This service provides important information that can be used to identify areas of improvement, for use in real reporting scenarios.

The Management Portal is the go-to destination to manage other services including CareDocs Cloud Portal and CareDocs Connect. To help protect your residents’ information, you can choose exactly who has access to the Cloud Portal, which can be done by simply turning on/off a staff user’s access, or deciding what locations it can be accessed from.
