What to expect from our free downloadable emotion mapping tool
Our free printable emotion mapping tool is a colourful wheel that contains 24 common emotions. There are eight core emotions in the centre of the wheel with decreased and elevated states of each emotion running around the centre and outside, respectively.
How is this tool used?

When recording daily care notes, identify which emotion the resident is feeling and tick the correct response box on the emotion wheel template. There are also spaces to record the resident’s name, the event the response relates to, the date and time, and the name of the staff member making the recording.
Use one emotion mapping sheet per event to avoid any confusion and attach completed sheets to the respective daily care notes. This will help you identify immediately how the resident was feeling in relation to the event when reviewing records, while the daily note should provide additional context.
