What is the Choice feature?
Choice is an area dedicated to logging a resident’s personal preferences so you can check their likes and dislikes to help you make informed decisions about their care.
How is the Choice feature used?
Choice is accessed by entering a Resident Profile. It’s one of several features which forms a digital care file – a single area where you can quickly locate key information about each individual. Choice allows you to record likes and dislikes for food, general interests and their daily routine.
For example, what does the resident like to have for breakfast, do they dislike a particular flavour, what is their favourite sport to watch on television, what conversation topics should be avoided, and what time they go to bed and wake up.
What benefits does the Choice feature have?
Having personal preferences recorded means your residents don’t have to repeat themselves and ensures there’s consistency in care. They can comfortably go about their day confident that you have their best interests in mind as you’re making decisions about the service.
Who benefits from the Choice feature?
Because each resident’s personal preferences are easily accessible and presented clearly, any carer including brand new staff, will be able to provide a satisfactory service using recorded information.
