CareDocs DSCR integrates with NHS GP Connect, giving care staff faster access to GP-held patient information

CareDocs, the UK digital care recording and care planning software provider, has integrated GP Connect into CareDocs DSCR, allowing authorised care staff to view relevant GP-held patient information directly within the platform. The integration forms part of the national requirements CareDocs DSCR met to be listed on the NHS DSCR DPS Assured Solutions List for Digital Social Care Records.

GP Connect is a national NHS service that securely connects approved clinical and care systems to GP records, supporting care delivered outside a patient’s registered GP practice. With the integration live, care staff using CareDocs DSCR can access relevant GP record information, such as medications and allergies, without needing to phone the GP practice or wait for information to be shared manually.

Alongside GP Connect interoperability, CareDocs DSCR met the DCB0129 clinical safety standard and the Minimum Operational Data Standard (MODS) to secure its place on the assured list, a nationally recognised benchmark covering clinical safety, information governance, cyber security, data quality, interoperability and product capability.

For care providers, the integration reduces a source of daily friction. Staff have often had to rely on phone calls to GP surgeries to confirm medication details or check a resident’s history, a process that takes time and can delay decisions. Direct access to GP-held information inside the care record staff already use is intended to close that gap.
