Residents

CareDocs Residents’ section contains every detail about all your residents, past and present, with each Resident having their own easily accessible ‘file’. Files can be filtered by name, location or placement to make locating them easy, with the resultant list showing photographs of each resident, plus an overview of their needs, room number, date of birth and placement date. Clicking on the resident’s name gives that resident’s Care Plan cover page, with a tool bar allowing access to all that resident’s information. From this point you have the choice to remain in ‘View’ mode, seeing all pages as they would appear when printed, or to switch to ‘Edit’ to make changes.

Personal Information, Contacts

This contains full details of a resident’s name, background and appearance, together with a photograph. There’s a dedicated Emergency contacts list, plus other contacts, with address, relational details, contact numbers and a place for any notes required.

Assessment

Clicking on ‘Assessment’ whilst in ‘View’ gives an overview of that resident’s most recent assessment, with a percentage health scoring for each set of questions within each section. Switch to ‘Edit’ and the first Assessment question is shown (Resident’s Rights), with the option to click on any Assessment Section heading to either see when that section was last assessed and by whom, or to start a re-assessment. A legend on each page shows how many questions in the complete assessment are current, how many are due for an update and how many have not been answered. Assessments amount to answering a series of multiple-choice questions, the beauty being that each next question is determined by the answer to the previous question, thereby ensuring that only the necessary questions within each section are asked. Separate Assessments exist for both Waterlow and MUST. A default date alarm setting can be given to each section to flag an overdue assessment to the Home Status page.

Care Plans

Care Plans are produced on completion of an assessment simply by clicking on the ‘Prepare Care Plan’ button. A copy of the existing Care Plan showing the date of the last assessment and the name of the assessor can be seen by clicking on the Care Plan index whilst in View mode. Care Plan content can be altered by switching to ‘Edit’, any changes being saved automatically. This page also gives the history for the section being viewed, showing the version of the copy you’re looking at, and allowing you the ability to view all past versions, giving a complete audit trail.
