Clicking on the Medical heading whilst in View mode gives immediate access to that resident’s Active Medication Listing, with instructions, dosage and start and stop dates for each medication. The system also automatically produces a full description of each medication chosen from a drawdown menu, so that, for example, for Aspirin the following would appear:
‘Aspirin is used to relieve mild to moderate pain; reduce fever, redness and swelling and to help prevent blood from clotting. It is used to relieve discomfort caused by numerous medical problems including headache, infections and arthritis. It is also used to reduce the risk of a second heart attack or stroke. Larger doses of Asperin are used to treat gout.’
Clicking on the Medication heading in Edit mode allows for the addition or removal of medication. This action cannot be finalised without a dosage being included.
